1962 Chrysler 300 engine Swap questions!

Hey guys its been a while. I recently got my hands on a really straight old 62 Chrysler 300 and its missing the origonal 383/413 haven't been able to figure out which engine was in it yet still trying to decode the body tag, it still has the big block pushbutton trans in it and want to keep it big block. Well I have found a 400 out of a 77 D300 that I can get for dirt cheap and I was wondering if there are any differences in the engine mount ears or major block differences between the early motors and the later motors that would cause problems with the swap? I'll admit I'm a Ford guy and Mostly mess with Y-blocks and FE stuff but I'm not gona pass up a clean mopar and just need some education on the subject from folks that know the RB engines better than me

Bay in the early 60s Chrysler had a different crank flywheel converter set up, I don't remember the details but you need simular motor/transmission so everything plays together.
outside dementions are the same 383/400 and 413/440.

The car has the origonal converter still in the transmission and it looks like a typical dodge setup has the ring gear on it and all that, I do have the origonal flex plate for the car too. I've read that the main difference was the diameter of the flex plate? Not sure I could be wrong. I have all engine accessories and the intake for it. Guy pulled it out to have it rebuilt and found out the block was Cracked so he gave up on the car

I've swapped a 426 wedge motor directly to the trans for a 73 400 Charger.

I'm 95% sure that will swap without an issue.

Thanks for the info guys, from what I've read I'll have to swap the torque converter cause the 400 is externally balanced and the 383/413 was internally balanced still looking for interchange info on the torque converters any tips?

i would say check with TCI or Hughes and see whats the best way to get that balance between the too..

Not sure what one you need? If Any?....>>>>> https://www.tciauto.com/chrysler-bal...ht-information
