Cool My first post

I'm quite ignorant with early Mopars. I'm looking to be different, different for me as I have always had GM stuff. Wanting to build a sleeper. I found but have not been able to buy yet a 1977 Dodge Aspen wagon. It's in great shape, a Sothern Central GA car. I would like to do some suspension work for handling and motor/trans work. Should the Torquflight be trashed for a 727? I know the 318 in it can be made to make almost 400 HP. but more expensive to build than starting with a 360. So I'd love to hear from the pros here what combinations will make this car scream!!!! The whole point of the car is to be a sleeper that nobody can figure where the tire smoke came from, close the electric dumps and drive quietly by the trooper looking for the fire!.

yes, if you plan on approaching 400 hp, def go with a 727. i thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink the 904 will handle that, technically, if the pedal isnt to the mat constantly, but if you have the option i'd go beefier haha. i hope you get to buy this car!

Ether one will need an overhaul, I'd say build a 904 or 999 they will rob less power. A few good parts and a kit will get you there.
