suspension question
hi everyone
First let me say I am glad to be here as I see many very cool trucks and ideas.
I had a question about suspension characteristics and parts to improve the ride - if possible
I have a 06 slt 4.7 v8 2wd club cab. currently it has cooper discover a/t3 tire size 255 70 r16
currently it has some extra bounce and reverberations in the front wheels when I hit bumps. I was hoping to tighten it up a bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me on what I can do? shocks/struts, bushings,? and is any brand better (preferred) over another?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
sean

The most efficient approach (and least expensive) would be to put it in the air and see what you can move with a pry bar, if there are worn parts you'll see it. The bounce is likely shocks, which the jiggle test won't find.

this might sound stupid - but how much pulling or pushing with a pry bar - can it take? I do not want to break anything - worn parts move fairly easily?
Also - if it is shocks and struts - any preferences on brand?
thanks again everyone

Nothing crazy, with the truck in the air you're not moving the weight of the truck. But if it's worn enough that you can break it than you shouldn't be driving it anyway, right? Monroe is a good cost/quality product. If you're unsure you could always get the opinion of your local alignment shop too.
