4.7L Jeep Grand Cherokee swap into a Jeep Liberty
I have owned a few jeep libertys and love the vehicle but i wish it had more spunk.... not to mention the Libertys i have owned only got 14 mpg on the highway at best and it was bonestock and never romped on. So i was wondering if anyone has done or if anyone has knowledge on if you can swap the 4.7L motor out of the 05 style jeep grand cherokee and if it is possible to hook it up with the 5spd manual trans. Has anyone ever attempted this or know of any websites that have tried this??? Much help needed thanks!

That is a tough one. I know if crysler used the 3.9 magnums then you could fit a 5.2 or even a 5.9 in there, but I am unsure of swapping the 3.7 for a 4.7. I would think that the cost of doing it would not be worth it.... unless you don't mind spending a lot.
The biggest thing is the tranny bell housing mating surfaces between the two engine. If they are the same, then you can probably get it to fit.
