Trying to determine value of a car

Hello, I have an opportunity to purchase a 1964 Polara 500 that has the original 426 Street Wedge with the original 4 speed. The current owner has the original build sheet and fender tag. Also the engine was rebuilt a few years ago and he hasn't been driving it. It will need to be repainted but has very little (if any) rust. The interior will also need to be redone. It's a Black on Black car. Just not sure what the value of one of these cars would be since they are not all the common. Any input would be helpful. Thanks, Russell

Thanks. The lowest he's willing to go is $18,500.00. Honestly, I just don't know if that's a good price or not. To me it sounds fair for what the car is but not sure.

As far as price goes I'm stuck in 1980 where you could buy most anything for 1500 dollars, a running big block for a 100 bucks.

Sounds rare, nice and a car worth investing in. The price sounds right to me without seeing the car. That combination makes me drool.

Question on Value

Guys, thanks. I'm taking a half day off tomorrow to go look at it. Pretty sure that will help me make the decision on whether or not to move forward with it. Thanks for your input. Russell
