NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I BE IN THIS SPORT IF THAT HAPPENED !!!!!
That like going back to go-carts and 3 h.p. Briggs and Strattons,
Not that I'm apposed to the classes.... But if I get beat, I get beat, I always went home and did some more work. Get with the guys I could race with.
And if I bend a push rod and going to next round, It's not below me to hammer it straight to try to make next round and get a win..

it could be done. ya the cars would be slower. cost less to run. AND a much higher percent of the fuel cars would finish the run UNDER POWER. would it NOT be better to have ALL the runs finish under power? last year i kept track of the number of fuel runs NOT under power at the finish. it was about 30%. true that is a high %. but do you get your moneys worth if only 70-80 % finish under power? when a car cant finish under power you do NOT have a race. you a fail to finish, that is NOT a race. so if you have half the cars at the track, like Force you dont have to have that many GOOD cars. a few fair cars will still get you some wins.

i dont want cheaper it would just be a good thing. if you went to the supper bowl and before the finish , half of the major players was taken to the hospital . you would think you was cheated out of your money.

Moe, you need to get a NHRA rule book and read all the rules just on Stock Eliminator.... I do not want to see "cookie cutter" cars in drag racing...m. Are the "Pros " there??? Some would say yes.... But all the smoke, carnage, and the blown engines are what fill the stands...If you don't believe me go to most of the Division races... If the racers weren't in the stands there would nobody there....
I understand what you are saying but, I don't think this will put more butts in seats.....l. JMHO!!!!!

I can't stand to watch nasrice anymore, the car of tomorrow and toyota was the end for me. I fear the NHRA isn't too far behind. I don't follow it as much as I use to. I do like the pro stock class right now with the camaros, mustangs running. Even our local events at the track aren't what they use to be. A lot of test and tunes which are fine right now while I'm getting the bugs out of mine, but at some point it would be nice to compete again even in a simple trophy bracket race.

I agree its bracket racing with "cookie cutter" dragsters... Will go the bathroom when SC runs...... I don't care for throttle stop racing... Especially with cookie cutter look alike cars....

My only point is.... I love the other sanctioning organizations..I like that almost anyone can find a class to race in..... I think NHRA narrowed it down too much. And now there all about the big show. Leave all the other sportsman folks behind.
Dont get me wrong. I love the big Guns in the sport. I also like to watch them and talk to them.

good point guys. a few years ago some guys was wanting a new door slammer class. with the controls only. 1. rear tires 10.0" wide limit. 2. exhaust outlet limit each 2" dia. 3. carb one 4 bbl with venture limit 1.06" dia or in that size range, and throttle plate at some limit. so the inspection would be very easy. no cubic inch limit. but never heard any more about this idea. what think?

Moe, that sounds a lot like one of the ADRL classes... I'm not that familiar with them but do like to watch those fast cars run.... To me a real race car has doors.... JMHO

with NHRA the hard part is meeting all the rules. years ago in Tulsa i would go to the inspection shed and watch how hard the stocker guys worked to show that a guys car was truly STOCK. one time a early 60s max wedge with a aluminium hood lost the hood, in the traps. but NHRA would NOT let him use a steel hood.

Hahahaha...There all to fast. Imagine how wide spread they would be if they had to Pedal race them....
The point is not to dog the class guys..... It was Just to show that if you close up Top Fuel and start sealing engines and you take all the spills and thrills out of the hunt. I feel your just setting limits to low for people to be excited about, An that thins out the stands to much..

if the fuel car tuners are so great why does the fuel engines brake so much? when 30% of the passes do NOT finish under power. you did NOT see a race win. you saw a FAIL it compete. i sure hope the fuel tuners dont start fixing street cars. we cant stand 30 % to the street cars fail to run. having seen a lot of drag racing, any E.T. under 13. will be hard to keep at that level.

1. Parts Failure.....
2. Under competition, as long as you cross the finish line first and sont cross the center line. You do win that round....
3. Why would a Fuel Tuner quit a job to tune street cars for less money..
4. Moe you need some better numbers on the failure rate....lol
5. AS for the 13.00ET...... Foot Breaking Car Racing car's can be quit challenging in it's self.
Just my take....
Your not calling me out are you !!!!!!
One of the cars I use to "Chew Chief" On: Not a Mopar..... Buuuuutt

last year i DID count the fail finishes at a race and it WAS 30 %. in the nitro class. true that is a high number. and ANY time you take drage racing seriously it is not easy. true each type is not easy. so i may be gone for a while. i may be moving to my moms place. she needs a lot of help. and the help i get from my family is not help. BUT they sure know what i should do. i think i can get the computer system moved this week. can i come live with you bob? LOL LOL
