unexpected smack in the face
well i was still having chest pains so back to the cardiologist and was scheduled for a cardiac ct scan got the results back and they found a abnormality so off to get a heart cath yesterday well the good news is my arteries are very clear almost no build up of any kind so i was happy then came the smack in the face it seems i was born with a problem and never knew thru the 44 years i haved lived it seems the artery on the left side of my heart is normal BUT my right one grew off the left side and is not giving the right side of my heart enough blood strange i never had an issue before this plus the direction it grew causes it to be pinched shut at times depending what i am doing i was told it could lead to sudden cardiac death syndrome so monday i am going in for open heart surgery to either transplant the artery where it should be or if that dont work then by-pass it all together wow was that alot to swallow when you aren't expecting that kind of news so i will be off the forum for awhile as i am expected to stay in the hospital 3-5 days maybe 7 will give update as soon as i can

Wow, that's heavy-duty. Quite the shock for sure. The advances in cardiology are significant, so I hope this'll turn out to be a walk in the park for ya. My best, and hope you can get back on the forum soon!

Well best of luck to ya. DRIVE that dart. I'm 63, have outlived one of my Grandmas who died in her '50's, one sister who died of brain cancer in her 50's and two cousins who both died of cancer at a young age. My own Dad only lived to 71.
On the other hand, one Grandma and my Mom lived into their late 80's, one Grandfather died in his 90's and the other lived a few days after his 100th
So I guess you just need to get that car out of the garage and DRIVE it. NICE lookin' ride, by the way.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to you. It is great that they have found this and are able to repair it while you are healthy enough to go through the operation. Follow the doctors orders and keep a positive outlook and you will up and around again soon.
I was in your part of the woods today (Bellevue) to a car show. Not too bad of a turnout considering the weather. Took home 3rd place. Got invited back sometime in Sept for a cruise the the railroad museum. Not sure of the date yet. Have you done that one?

Good Luck to you. Several in my family have had bypass surgery and I have several stints. A little different than yours but they can do amazing things now and you will be one of the successes. Just do what the doctors say...And again best wishes. Get back here soon.

Looking forward seeing you back as well. This kind of thing is actually more common than we realize. I knew of a few guys that had abnormalties like yours or maybe a hole in the heart. Symptoms usually do not appear untill middle age. Tire easily or out of breath. The surgery is common as well. Still open heart surgery.
Just mentioned it to help you feel better. Hope it worked. You are in our prayers. Take care see ya soon. Boogie

Welcome back. Sounds like your on the way to recovery. Modern medicine is amazing to me. I remember back in the 60's a friend of the family had open heart surgery and they spent at least a month and a half in the hospital. Keep the positive attitude, it will get you through rehab easier.
