hi need help

just rebuild dodge ram 318 1983 engine it starts then dies put with gas it dosnt what can be the problem

Check your timing (make sure spark plug wires are set for correct firing order, in the correct spot on distributor cap and cylinder.)

Looks like you're saying it dies unless you pour gasoline into the carb to keep it running? Then if that IS the case you have a fuel delivery issue. The pump, or electric pump if you have one, isn't working for some reason. Is there actual gas in the tank?
