Need help !!
I have recently purchased a 1956 Plymouth savoy v8. I have bought a new battery and replaced all positive and negative ground cables. I’ve also replaced the starter solenoid. Wire brushed all connecting surfaces for better connection still nothing from the starter but a buzzing noise ? I took the starter out and bench tested it and it worked perfectly although the bendex didnt move very much at all. So I reinstalled the starter and all it does it make a buzzing noise. I’m using my battery charger to jump the starter in the car and I’m not using any ignition. Please help ?

It sounds like you already addressed all other potential electrical issues.
It seems like there is something wrong with the starter itself. With a helper or using a remote starting switch, what happens if you lightly tap on the starter with a hammer? To be clear lightly... if you hit it too hard you'll risk breaking permanent magnets inside of it or causing other damage.
Other than trying to repair your existing unit, replacement seems to be the only option but, their expensive.
I can't vouch for any of these, their just what turned up in a Google search.

Perhaps someone else here can offer better advice.

I tried tapping it with a hammer and I also tried while I had the battery charger on it trying to see if it would work… nothing lol. I just took the starter to a guy to rebuild it $180. I can’t thank you enough for helping me out.

It lives !!!! I got the starter rebuilt, installed it and I get absolutely nothing from the ignition switch. If I run a hot wire to the coil and put 12 volts straight to the starter it will crank the motor up. I’m running only the wires necessary to start it. I’m running 12 gauge wires as well. Battery to battery prong on starter solenoid. Ignition prong on ignition switch to coil. Starter prong on ignition switch to starter prong on starter solenoid. I get 12.5 volts to all wires and when I turn the key I get 3.8 volts to the starter ? Everything is brand new, good connections and connection surfaces. I’ve test lighted everything I can think of and I’m getting a good ground and 12 volts everywhere ???? What size gauge wires should I be running to the starter and what size gauge should I be running for the ignition switch ?
