My truck is a champ for its age. If i havent been thru an area of it,im about to lol. It starts right up in cooler weather when i lived in Wa.St. Now that i live in a hotter climate 100 + Fresno, ive noticed it doesnt want to fire up like it used to. It starts but... Should i change ecu, back off on the choke adj,. I have new plugs, wires, cap& rotor, ballast resistor, starter s/sw. But i know still it could b one of those. It also diesels on shut dwn. I dont know yet if edlebrock mks a idle stop sw. What do u think

Sounds like it just needs a few adjustments.... Lean out the Idle Air mixture some....Also Slow down the Idle some, too high of an idle will cause run on. If you think the compression is getting very low, you can shut it off in gear. Also, the float level my need adjusting now for what is called heat soak boil over. look down the troth of the carb after its hot and shut off and see if you see fuel dripping, that's a sure sign. One thing also comes to mind, make sure you have the proper spark plugs for the engine. some folks get off base with the wrong kind / heat range of spark plug and some times the repair is as simple as that.
Keep us posted.... Cheers
